The Story Ship flies into the future to hear a SciFi story based on an old Aesops Fable, "The Bundle Of Sticks." Kids at Centennial Elementary in Gainesville, GA wrote this story and recorded it in 2005. Today we learn about morals and wisdom tales and how many stories are the same story just told in a different place with different characters or at a different time. Join us for "Ice Breakers."

Story Ship Podcast Voyage 17 - ”1846 Wagons Ho”
Wednesday Sep 29, 2021
Wednesday Sep 29, 2021
This episode is for older kids 4th grade and above. There are descriptions of real dangers that early explorers and settlers faced including death. The story is exciting and fun to listen to but not for young children.
Join the Story Ship's Wagon Train for journey out to Western American in the year 1846. Kids from Camden Elementary wrote and recorded this adventure story in 2008. Westward expansion was a major part of the growth of America. Many students in 4th and 5th grades across the United States study the cause and effect of this great movement.
Hold on to your cowboy hats for this exciting adventure.

Story Ship Podcast Voyage 16- Barry Stewart Mann Guest
Wednesday Sep 22, 2021
Wednesday Sep 22, 2021
The Story Ship's Voyage 17 brings us to meet internationally known storyteller, Barry Stewart Mann. I think of Barry as the Ambassador Of Storytelling. He travels the world sharing our culture with others through storytelling.
In this episode, Barry tells us a wonderful story that he wrote years ago about letting go. "Good Grief The Leaf" was created for children but I think you will find this story has a special message that resonates really for adults.

This weeks Story Ship voyage takes us to Holly Springs, SC where we wrote poems and had a poetry slam. A poetry slam is when a group of poets get together and read their poems back to back. I found kids to be so insightful and very wise indeed.
